Ideas from reading other blogs

After reading many fellow classmates blogs, it actually help extend my way of thinking. Some of you help me realize something I did not during the class period. I think this is one of the reasons why Mrs. Watson make us read each others blogs and comment on it. I am glad that many of you see things the way I do. Maybe it is because we are the same age so our level of thinking are "probably" at the same level.

Last and Final Blog

I enjoyed posting up blogs. Especially when you can post whatever you want on here. It is like another diary online. Well I am going to post this blog because I think it is my last blog I need to post. Here are some wise words from me. You live and you learn; learning from your mistakes and others. Never quit, because you may succeeded. Never follow the wrong crowd. Listen to your brain and not your heart because your heart does not have a brain to think. But wait, how you can listen to your brain when your heart is the one beating. haha, get it?

English 242, Section 102 Class quality Time

I love this class!!! I enjoy it and I think it is very creative and fun. The class takes me back to my elementary years but different subjects. Not only do I enjoy the class, I also enjoy the people that is in the class. I love listening to their funny comments. The class schedule is very organize and spread out. The movies that are being shown in the class is very entertaining. Mrs. Watson is a wonderful teacher and explains what she excepts from the assignments in details. She attempts to help your grades increase by making you take mini quizzes. This class this semester flew by for me, all thanks to my fellow classmates and the beautiful wonderful teacher, Polly Watson. :)

Preview of My Research Paper

I wrote my paper based on Jane Austen. She is like any other authors but she is well known on her novels. On the paper I focused on her romance life. I found her romance to be very interesting because she did not live a happily ever after life with her prince charming. In fact, she was never married. So the question is why does she write such great romantic novels when she does not live a romantic life with anyone? I researched on different books and websites but they all seem to be the same but slightly reworded. Some covered more details and others did not.

Austen's first true love was Tom Lefroy. They both spent some quality time together and feel deeply in love. There was one major thing holding them back, and it was the expectation of Lefroy’s family. Since Lefroy was the oldest son, he was expected to do things well and efficient. Tom Lefroy’s family did not think Jane Austen met the requirements because she was not rich enough. This lead Austen to let Lefroy go since they could not go any further.

After all the research  I did about her romance life, I came to a conclusion how she wrote great romantic novels. The reason being is because she has already experienced love. As girls, we do fantasy about our life especially with love. Even though Austen did not end up with the one she love, she probably learn it from other people's relationships.

Movie Selection

Between all the movies we watched this whole semester which was Frankenstein, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter: the Chamber of Secrets, Lord of the Ring: the return of the King, and How to Train your Dragon, I enjoyed the movie "How to Train your Dragon" the most. When I heard that the class was going to watch that movie, to be honest I was kind of bored already. I think the main reason for me not wanting to watch the movie was because of the title. I dislike many action movie and I thought this movie was going to be an action movie determining by the title. But I guess I was wrong, I loved the story line of this story. The ending of the movie made me tear up a little because it was very touching. The end of the movie shows me the values of friendship. Alice in Wonderland was the second best in my opinion. I love the theme, setting, and outfits. Almost everything in the movie was colorful, which I love because  I am very attracted to colorful things.

Mary Shelley

When we discussed about Mary Shelley having having four children and three of the children were died, this made me think of what my mother once told me. In my culture (Hmong) we believe that if you have children that does not survive, the reason being is because in your past life you have probably done wrong to a person or you owe someone money. This leads that person to pretend to be your baby and die so your life would be sad and sorrow. In order to stop this person, you must smug some ash anywhere on the died baby's body. This is going to remain on the child and when they come to be reborn to you again, the mark that you left is going to appear as "birthmark". This help you realize that it is the same child and  he/she will be too embarrassed to reappear in your presence again.

Trust me, I thought this was weird too; but what can I say, the Hmong people believe in the weirdest things.
